thought.

need to assign directees to directors:

- Previous experiences of spiritual direction
- What qualities the person is looking for in a director.
- Image of God, now, and how that has changed
over time
- Ways in which the person usually prays

Exercises take, and a specific place where the person commits
to this in writing.

You want to help participants
write a faith autobiography that will help your directors discern their
directees better. Consider asking some of these questions:
- What brought me to this point, where I want to take
this retreat?
- What and who are the significant people,
experiences, and events that shaped my faith life?
- How have my culture, ethnicity, place in family,
gender, and relationships influenced my relationship with God?
- When do I feel God's presence or absence?
- What qualities do I like in myself? Don't like?
- How do I pray? Does it feel fruitful or dry right
now?
- How/where do I find God in the needs of others?
Ask for at least three type-written pages.
