Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life - Tri-Cities News

SEEL Tri-Cities provides first Preparation Days Retreat in 2007.

SEEL Tri-Cities provides the Preparation Days Retreat - five weekly meetings - for participants considering the Exercises. Participants attend five Saturday morning meetings. They pray over the material on their own time, with the expectation they will spend at least 20 minutes a day. At the group meetings, participants pray, hear a presentation or contemplation, and spent one hour in small group spiritual direction. We've used this process to bring people into the Exercises for three years now. Our next retreat will begin again in September, 2010.

SEEL Becomes a 501 (c) (3) Non-Profit Organization

In the spring of 2007, SEEL Tri-Cities completed all the IRS paperwork for 501(c) (3) status. Although we haven't heard officially if our group qualifies as non-profit, we are thrilled to be this far along in the process.

Our first board meeting was held in March, 2007. The next meeting will be May 7, 2007 in Richland, WA, with five new board members being added. We are excited about the possibilities of becoming a non-profit organization, and proceeding toward accomplishing our long term goals of bringing the Spiritual Exercises to the world

15-year Celebration

In 2001-2002 the Spiritual Exercises in Everyday Life (SEEL) Tri-Cities, WA, celebrated our 15th-year anniversary.  We invited all former participants, 142 people who now live all over the Northwest, and even the country! Twenty-seven attended.

Fr. Mike Bayard, S.J. from Seattle University joined us for a half-day of recollection, sharing, liturgy, and lunch.  The day focused on the Contemplatio, learning to love like God. Several participants expressed an interest in continuing by either attending SEEL group meetings, or joining a Christian Life Community.

We felt enriched and blessed by Fr. Mike's presence, and thankful for the participation of so many "alumni."
