Like a good opening to a story, a
well-thought out hook will draw your listeners into your presentation
and keep their attention.
Use props, pictures,
and/or handouts. Try to incorporate all senses.
The more creative you
are, the more effective your presentation will be. |
Read through all
the material you have.
After careful consideration, decide on the
main point of your message. This may take a while.
Brainstorm. Think of an analogy that best describes for yourself
your talk's main focus.
Examples:
Principle
and Foundation - A spiritual foundation is much like a
physical foundation. Compare and contrast how they each support
and are necessity for expansion. Example
Hook for the Principle and Foundation presentation.
Two
Standards - explain definition of a standard during the time
of St. Ignatius, and use that image of a banner.
Sin
- Like streaks on a window, mostly unnoticed until the sun shines on
them.
Passion -
compare and contrast how much you suffer at the death of a loved one
verses the death of someone unknown to you. Love engenders
suffering. The more we love, the more we suffer.
